A municipal public security bureau in Guangdong Province partnered with Homsh Technology to deploy an iris recognition system for criminal investigation and identity verification, enhancing the bureau's forensic capabilities.
Challenge
The public security bureau required a reliable biometric identification system that could rapidly match suspects against a large-scale database. Existing fingerprint-based systems faced challenges with worn or damaged prints, and face recognition was susceptible to disguise. The bureau needed a modality that was both highly accurate and resistant to tampering.
Solution
Homsh deployed a comprehensive iris identity verification system comprising server-side infrastructure and front-end collection devices. The system was built on the PhaseIris recognition algorithm running on Homsh's proprietary iris recognition chips.
